Cassetti Announces Parking Ban In Ansonia To Remove Snow

Ansonia Mayor David Cassetti posted the following notice on Facebook and the city’s website:

Due to the incoming snow storms that are reported to occur over the weekend and into the beginning of early next week I am instituting a city wide parking ban.

Due to the accumulated snow already on the streets it will be very difficult to remove any new snow. All vehicles will need to be removed from the roadways.

This ban will go into effect on Sunday Feb. 8 at 3 p.m. and will end on Tuesday Feb. 10, at noon.

Please make every effort to get your vehicles off the street during the ban. Vehicles that are left on the street may be subject to towing. If schools are in session on Monday morning you will need to remove your vehicle by 7:00 a.m.

Parking is allowed in any City owned lots.

Homeowners and contractors are reminded that plowing or shoveling snow into the roadway is illegal and will result in a fine.

The Ansonia Public Works Department is continuing to clean roadways as well as prepare for future snow events.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance and patience with this matter.”
