Christ Episcopal Church Hosting Good Friday Taizé Service

Christ Episcopal Church

The following press release was sent by Christ Episcopal Church:

Christ Episcopal Church at 56 South Cliff Street, Ansonia will be hosting, with Trinity Episcopal Church of Seymour CT, a Taizé meditative service on Good Friday, March 29, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

Gathering on one of the most holy days of the year to remember the passion of our Lord, we will come together In silence, opening ourselves to the Holy Spirit in the presence of Christ. The songs of Taizé are a way of taking time to let the life of the heart grow in prayer.

Taizé is an evening prayer service (pronounced <tah-ZAY>) for all Christian faiths. Named for the monastic spiritual community in Taizé, France, this unique form of contemplation invites you into an awareness of God’s presence through chant-like songs, short scripture readings, and silent meditation in a candle-lit environment.

Reverend Patricia Leonard-Pasley of Trinity Episcopal Church, Seymour, will be executing the Good Friday service at Christ Episcopal Church, along with members of Trinity choir and Trinity musicians.

We will meditate over the fourteen stations of the cross, hear scripture and keep silent in prayer.

The doors of Christ Episcopal Church are open, and everyone is welcome to join us.
