The Shelton Historical Society will host a Civil War reenactment at the Shelton History Center on Ripton Road next month.
The demonstrations will be conducted by the 14th Regiment Connecticut Volunteer Infantry from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 11.
Private William Webb, an African-American soldier portrayed by Kevin Johnson, will present his life story.
President Abraham Lincoln, portrayed by Steve Wood of New Hampshire, will mingle with visitors for photos. Lincoln will also review the troops and make a speech.
Refreshments will be provided, and tours of the history center building will be offered during the day.
The event costs $5 per person, or $15 for a family. The money will benefit programs for the Shelton Historical Society.
