Consulting, Engineering and Development Services, Inc., a company based in New Milford, has started construction of a new 33,000 square-foot building on lot two of the Fox Hollow Industrial Park.
A welcoming ceremony was hosted Monday at the building site by Pacesetter Construction.
“We are very pleased to welcome C.E.D. Services to Oxford Fox Hollow Park,” said First Selectman Mary Ann Drayton-Rogers, in a press statement after the event.
C.E.D. is a manufacturing company that specializes in computer aided design, prototype machining, Computer Numeric Controlled machining, short and long run production, research and development projects and technical sub-assemblies.
C.E.D. employs 70 people. It is currently based in New Milford, where it has outgrown 20,000 square-feet of space. C.E.D. is looking forward to increasing its workforce at the new location and is now looking for quality control technicians and machinists.
“We have been looking for a place to build and expand for about year years,” said Steven G. Meyer, Chief Executive Officer and founder of C.E.D. He said Oxford officials and the Economic Development Commission have all been welcoming and helpful.
The site work and foundations were completed Sept. 23. Structural steel is being erected.
