UPDATE: Route 8 southbound has re-opened after a tractor-trailer truck jackknifed near exit 22 Monday afternoon.
As of 4:30 p.m., one lane had been re-opened.
State police continued to clean up the scene and investigate. No accident report was available as of 4:30 p.m.

Route 8 southbound is closed at exit 22 in Seymour, after a tractor-trailer truck jackknifed and crashed Monday afternoon.
The crash happened at about 12:29 p.m., according to state police.
Police dispatched an ambulance to the scene for ​“minor injuries,” according to a dispatcher at state police barracks in Bethany.
The extent of the injuries was not known yet.
The road is expected to be closed until at least 2:30 p.m.
Drivers are being routed off Route 8 and through town roads in Seymour.
