Shelton Democratic mayoral candidate Michele Bialek stopped by the Valley Indy Wednesday for an interview.

During the interview, the Valley Indy asked Bialek questions about a number of topics, including:
- Why she decided to run for mayor;
- What she thinks the biggest issue facing the city is;
- Education;
- The relationship between the city and the Board of Education;
- The city’s budgeting process;
- Fiscal transparency;
- Downtown redevelopment;
- Should City Hall be moved downtown?
- Taxes;
- Development citywide;
- Her reaction to Mayor Mark Lauretti’s reasons for not participating in a debate;
Along with her husband Fred, Bialek owns and operates two locations of Liquid Lunch, as well as Grow, a new farm-to-table restaurant on Howe Avenue.
She is running against 12-term incumbent Mark Lauretti and Timothy Bristol, a write-in candidate.
