Derby police are investigating five robberies in the past four months “that appear to be connected.”
The department issued photographs Wednesday (below) of a suspect and asked the public to identify the man.
Derby businesses robbed include the Derby Smoke Shop at 656 New Haven Ave. (Route 34 in east Derby) and the nearby Subway sandwich shop at 676 New Haven Ave.
Police did not name the other businesses robbed nor provide times or dates, but police previously said the Derby Walmart at 656 New Ave. was robbed in April.
“The suspect threatened a weapon on several occasions and stole cash and cigarettes,” according to a statement from Derby police Wednesday.
The suspect is described as white or Hispanic, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and heavy set.
