The Derby High boys soccer team improves to 3 – 0 at home this season defeating St. Paul Catholic 3 – 0 on Friday.
Eric Hicks scored the game winning goal late in the first half.
Freshman Bevan McLean scored his first career varsity goal in the 2nd half to give the Red Raiders a cushion.
After a foul called in the penalty box, Damir Poric buried the penalty shot past Falcon All-State keeper Zach Federowicz who had 11 saves on the day.
Chris Flanigan earned the clean sheet for Derby with 9 saves.
The Red Raiders host rival Ansonia at Witek Park next Wednesday to extend the home winning streak.
