A recount for the Third Ward Aldermen race has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 in Derby City Hall.
In Derby, voters choose three Aldermen per ward. The top three highest vote getters win spots on the board.
Just nine votes separate third-place finisher Tony Staffieri and fourth-place finisher Jim DiMartino.
Both ran on the Republican Party line.
State law triggers a recount because the difference is fewer than 30 20 votes.
The recount will take place in the Joan Williamson Aldermanic Chambers, on the second floor of Derby City Hall at 1 Elizabeth St.
The Third Ward results were close in the 2013 municipal election, too, and a recount was held.
This information comes from a letter by head election moderator Dorothy Tynan distributed to the press by Derby Town-City Clerk Marc Garofalo.
