Mayor, Dave Cassetti wanted us (The Ansonia Cultural Commission) to pull out all stops on this years Harvest Festival. Every now and then we have to change things up to keep it fresh and new. We are going to be focusing more on what makes Ansonia special. WE will have one of the largest crafter and vendor venues in the region! The restaurants on Main Street will all be open to the festival, in addition to the great food vendors from all over serving everything from fried dough and fried chicken to BBQ and Spanish cuisine! We will have the Fire House Museum on display with Antique fire apparatus and engines, Antique Autos, Tractors. The Valley Arts Council will be previewing some art in front of the site that will house their new “Main Street” Gallery this fall. We have Hay Rides! Pony & Horse Rides! A petting Zoo, A kids Zone,Face painters, Henna, Temporary tattoos you name it …Its here! We’ll have live music all Day long by Southern Voices, Sumo Side Car , Survivor Swing Band and a Magic show by Pete n’ Chris! Roaming Magicians! Our Harvest Festival Mascot, “Harvey” will make a visit, joined by the CT Siren girls dressed as you guessed it… Scarecrows!
The Siren Girls will stroll the venue in a LIVE photo – Shoot! Those who bake can still join in Grandma Pearl’s Baking contest and those with an appetite may want to enter The Great Pie Eating Contest! Both activities are sponsored by Eddy’s bake Shop. Visit Eddy’s Bake Shop at 172 Main Street , Ansonia, for entry details! The Event runs the full length of downtown Ansonia. There is plenty of FREE Parking adjacent to the venue and Admission is FREE! The weatherman is calling for a beautiful Sunny Autumn Day ! So come on down to Ansonia and take in the festivities! This is one event that you don’t want to miss.
