Lauretti, 57, told the CT Post was thinking about a run for the U.S. House of Representatives, to represent Connecticut’s 4th District.
U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, a Democrat, currently holds the seat.
Three other Republicans have announced an interest in running on the GOP ticket for the seat.

Lauretti was recently re-elected as mayor of Shelton, to serve his 11th term in office.
He beat challenger Chris Jones by almost a 2‑to‑1 margin.
