Two men burglarized a Shelton gas station early Monday and stole cartons of cigarettes, according to police.
Officers were called to the Buck Stop gas station at 429 Shelton Ave. about 3 a.m. Monday for a report of a burglar alarm, Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said in a press release issued Monday afternoon.
“Upon arrival police noticed that the rear door had been forced open,” the press release said. “Police checked the business and the area, but did not locate any suspects.”
Detectives responded and processed the scene.
Surveillance video from the store shows a small compact vehicle parking by the rear door of the store. Two white males then enter the store and take cartons of cigarettes, the press release said. The males then leave in the vehicle.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Shelton Police Department at (203) 924‑1544.
Last December the store was the site of two armed robberies. The heists were unrelated, and police eventually charged a total of four men in the two robberies.
All of the suspects took plea deals and are currently serving prison sentences.
