A Milford man was charged with negligent homicide Monday in connection to a fatal crash on Roosevelt Drive.
According to the police accident report, Brian J. Hull, 20, was traveling on Roosevelt Drive near Punkup Road in a 1999 Ford Explorer Nov. 27 at about 6:30 p.m. when he crossed the center lane and collided with a 1997 Lexus being driven by John Sheehan, 62, of Shelton.
Sheehan, a nuclear medicine technologist at Danbury Hospital, was taken to Griffin Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to the police report.
A passenger in Hull’s truck, identified as Brad Smith, 39, also of Milford, sustained lower leg injuries and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment.
Hull was not injured in the accident and refused medical treatment at the scene, according to the police report.
In addition to negligent homicide, Hull was charged with failure to drive in the proper lane.
According to the April 5 police report, authorities could not determine why Hull’s truck crossed the center line.
The report goes on to say Hull was arrested by state police without incident and was released on a $5,000 bond.
Hull is due in Derby Superior Court on April 19.
