Shelton’s very own Mrs. Connecticut, Liza Ginoni-Gambino, recently joined the Derby-Shelton Rotary.

The very first time I met Liza was at our Shelton Day festival. She was introduced to me as Mrs. Connecticut American. She was so warm and authentic. I asked her if she wanted to get into one of the Shriners cars with me and she said yes, without a second thought. I was very excited to learn she was interested in becoming a member. She’s a definite asset to our Derby Shelton Rotary Club. She loves to give back to the community. I knew she would be a perfect fit,” said Kim Ryan Caro, Club President.

Lucy Andrade, 2024 – 2025 President Elect said, I’m so excited for Liza being our newest member. I met Liza 14 years ago when she joined me with Youth Cheerleading in Shelton. We volunteered many hours not only coaching the girls, but also running fundraising events within the program. She is a go-getter and follows-through on projects, which will be a great asset for our Club. She puts love in all that she does. As incoming President, I am looking forward to working with her again.”

Liza commented, As I began my pageant journey as Mrs Connecticut, my focus was to get more involved in my community. Thankfully, I stumbled upon the Derby/Shelton Rotary when I offered to volunteer at their infamous Shelton Day. I feel I found a forever home with my Rotary family. The Rotary International motto is service above self.’ I feel we all could make a difference in our community and in the world by donating our time, even just a little bit. It’s takes a village! I am truly blessed to be an official member of our local Rotary.”
