New York Couple Opens Shelton Restaurant

Shelton officials and business leaders gathered Dec. 16 for a ribbon-cutting at Red Lotus, a new Asian fusion restaurant in Shelton.

Red Lotus is located at 872 Bridgeport Ave., in the Shelton Square Shopping Center.

Restaurant owners Bilian (Nia) Chen and her husband larry were joined by Mayor Mark Lauretti, Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce President Bill Purcell and many others at the ribbon-cutting.

The Chens, who are from New York City, spent eight months renovating the restaurant, gutting the entire space and replacing all the equipment.

Red Lotus is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 9 p.m.

The menus is modern Asian cuisine, with many classic and favorite dishes.

Lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
