Shelton police said an accident between a school bus and a vehicle occurred Thursday morning.
There were no injuries reported.
Shelton Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said via e‑mail Thursday that the accident occurred about 10:15 a.m. on Nells Rock Road.
Few details were available because a report had not been prepared.
Shelton schools were on a 90-minute delay Thursday morning. Parents on the Valley Indy Facebook page were apprehensive about sending their kids back to school, worried that not enough snow had been cleared from the roads.
However, police couldn’t say whether Thursday’s accident was weather-related.
In an interview before the accident, Shelton Police Chief Joel Hurliman said the back-to-school, post-blizzard effort had been going fairly smoothly.
Hurliman credited public works crews with working through the night Wednesday to clear parking lots and roads.
But the volume of last week’s snowfall is still a concern, he said.
“There’s still the cars and visibility restrictions at some of these intersections, and that’s not going to go away anytime soon,” he said.
The Valley Indy left a message with Superintendent Freeman Burr Thursday morning.
