Two members of the family — Merry Jackson and her daughter, Lori Gellatly — were shot in Gellatly’s Sioux Drive home Wednesday.

Gellatly died and Jackson was listed in critical condition at St. Mary’s Hospital Thursday afternoon.

Gellatly’s estranged husband, Scott Gellatly, has been charged with murder and attempted murder, among other charges. He faced a judge for the first time Thursday.

Jerry Schwab, the executive director of the ambulance association, contacted the Valley Indy Thursday evening.

People have been dropping by (ambulance headquarters) looking to make donations and looking for ways to help,” Schwab said.

So Schwab got the blessing of Doug Jackson, Merry’s husband, to begin collecting donations for the family.

Lori Gellatly leaves behind two young twin toddlers.

Donations to The Jackson Family Fund” will be used to help with expenses related to the incident, and the money will go toward the two young children as well. – Schwab was planning to set up a website today (Friday, May 9) to accept donations. The Valley Indy will post the URL once the website is live.-
