A public information session open to all residents and business owners in Oxford affected by Hurricane Irene is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Oxford Town Hall, 486 Oxford Road.
Douglas Glowacki, from the Connecticut Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, will present an informational program on the Hazardous Mitigation Process for residents. A community representative from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will also attend, to help residents and answer questions.
First Selectwoman Mary Ann Drayton-Rogers is asking that all residents affected by the flooding and power outages or suffered loss of property or damage to their homes or business premises attend the meeting.
Town officials have already held meetings with FEMA representatives, utility companies, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D‑CT, and critiqued the internal actions of town departments. The meeting Monday is an opportunity for everyone to participate.
