Police Investigate Fatal Shooting In Shelton

SHELTON — Police said a 23-year-old man from Bridgeport was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Marriott Residence Inn Saturday night.

The victim was indentified Sunday afternoon as Ivan Whyte, of Bridgeport.

Police and EMS were sent to 1001 Bridgeport Ave. at 11:33 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.

Personnel arrived and located the male, who was pronounced deceased at the scene,” according to a prepared statement from police.

Police said additional details could be released Monday.

Shelton detectives are working with the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Squad and the state’s Attorney’s Office to investigate.
