Shelton Man Charged In Wife’s Murder

A Shelton man has been charged with killing his wife of 27 years in the family’s home Sunday night.

Thomas Infante, 52, was charged with murder and held on a $500,000 bond after surrendering to police Monday.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at Superior Court in Derby.

In a prepared statement, police said Infante and his wife, Lisa, were going through a divorce and had an argument Sunday night. The Infantes have four children.

During the argument, Thomas Infante shot and killed his wife,” the statement from police said.

Infante allegedly fled the scene immediately after the shooting, but surrendered to police Monday after being named a person of interest” in the case.

Lisa Infante’s death has been ruled a homicide. 

Lisa Infante was an active volunteer with Echo Hose Ambulance in Shelton, where a vigil was held Monday night to remember the popular volunteer.

EMS and emergency responders were posting blue teardrops on social media Monday in memory of her and her volunteerism in Shelton.

Shelton police were called to the Infante house at 7 Hickory Lane at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report that someone had died.

Upon arrival, police officers discovered a 52-year-old woman deceased in the home,” Bango said in a prepared statement early Monday.
