Samela Food Pantry is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday weekly, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Volunteering can be for 1 or 2 days per week. Volunteering schedule is flexible
Hours of operation are 9 am to 1 pm every Tues., Wed., and Thurs.
Required skills: Friendly, adhere to laws of confidentiality, reliable, trustworthy, flexible; ability to interact with distressed persons; responsible for intake information in compliance with Connecticut Foodshare regulations; maintain recordkeeping for meals provided to clients; maintain confidential client records in secure file cabinet.
You must be able to walk flight of stairs to enter and exit building.
Duties: Pulling client files, recording client information on intake sheet, assisting clients for food order selections (as necessary) and refiling client files at end of shift.
Dress Code: Business Casual.
