OUR STORY

The Love Mom XOXO Foundation Inc, is a 501c3 nonprofit inspired in honor of my sister, Lynn Nespoli Lewis.

Lynn passed away suddenly at the age of 48 and left behind her husband and 3 children. Known for her unwavering dedication to her family, Lynn was a devoted mother of 3, the wife of a Danbury Firefighter, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a teacher and a coach. She lived for her children and her children lived for their amazing mother. Watching her 3 children navigate this new life without their Mom was heartbreaking.

During this challenging aftermath, we sought out others who had suffered the same loss and understood the plethora of emotions that followed — including a feeling of ostracization. Delving into local grief support groups revealed a predominant therapy-centric approach.

The Love Mom XOXO Foundation envisioned helping families in a non-clinical manner, using peer-to-peer support during the grieving process. That vision became a reality providing bereaved children and families more of an interactive approach using activity-based” adventure programs shared with like-minded families during their healing journeys. Our logo is Lynn’s actual signature extracted from one of her children’s birthday cards.

OUR PROGRAM

Central to our ethos is cultivating an inclusive, safe and welcoming community for families associated with our Foundation, navigating the profound loss of a parent or co-parent during this most difficult time. We do not offer therapy services”, however, we do offer comfort and unity while participating with others who share the same devastating loss.

Be it a child who is navigating the loss of a parent, or a parent who lost their spouse or co-parent, it is important for them to know they are not alone. Our activity-based programs provide healing adventures through the magic of art, the joy of baking, the thrill of sports or simply a day at the park, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for healing and growth.

Our Activity-Based Healing Adventures are free of charge for all foundation families, as well as any fundraising events they wish to attend. Your support will help the Love Mom XOXO Foundation continue our Activity-Based Healing Adventures while also assisting families in need of basic necessities or other financial needs and support. We have built a wonderful community from within and the bonds the children and parents have formed will last a lifetime.

GIVE-BACK

The Love Mom XOXO Foundation also believes in utilizing our Activity-Based Healing Adventures to help support others in the community.

Our wonderful Foundation families have taken the initiative to organize community give-back” events including a Sing for Seniors” Christmas Caroling event and a Cake Wars” contest with the residents of a local assisted living facility. We also volunteer for and support other local non-profits and charities doing great things for our community.
