‘Seymour Pink’ Kicks Off Saturday, Oct. 1

Seymour Pink” starts Saturday, Oct. 1 with the 5th Annual Pounding the Pavement for Pink 5K.

The streets of Seymour will be full of excitement and hope as 2,400 participants from 15 states and over 100 Connecticut towns run and walk for hope. 

Seymour Pink” raises money to help people with breast cancer.

The morning will include a special run for kids 8 and under as well as a breakfast for the 128 survivors and patients that will be participating. 

Town First Selectman Kurt Miller and 9 other male community leaders will push a pink car the entire length of the race. 

According to Miller, this small amount of pain is nothing in comparison to what the brave folks fighting breast cancer go through”. 

Awards will be given out for Pinkest Outfit, Most Spirit, Most Monies Raised — to name a few.

But Breast Cancer Awareness month continues all month long.

On Saturday, October 8th, EnV Hair Salon will be holding a cut-a-thon to benefit Seymour Pink. An after party is scheduled at American Pie & Pub.

Wednesday, October 12th is Seymour Pink Day when students and residents will wear pink, decorate pink, and think pink.

Thursday, October 13th, Cellini’s Jewelers in Orange will hold a fundraiser for Seymour Pink. St. Vincent’s Mobile Mammography Coach will be at the store.

Saturday, October 15th, Fireplace Depot in Seymour will be holding an Open House with a portion of sales will go to Seymour Pink.

Tuesday, October 27th, stores in downtown Seymour will be open late for a special shopping evening to benefit and show support for Seymour Pink.

Seymour Pink’s mission statement is to unite a community in the fight against breast cancer. Through fundraising efforts, our goal is to fund breast cancer research, provide education and to empower and assist breast cancer victims and their families.
