Seymour is scheduled to vote on town and school budgets during a referendum Thursday, May 11 at the Seymour Community Center on Pine Street.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The town and school budgets are listed on the ballot as separate questions.
On May 2 Seymour First Selectman Kurt Miller, a Republican, and Stephan Behuniak, a Democrat on the Board of Selectmen, stopped by to talk about the budget with Valley Indy staffers Eugene Driscoll and Ethan Fry.
The interview was carried on Facebook Live as it happened May 2 during “The Great Give,” a 36-hour online fundraiser that benefited The Valley Indy and hundreds of other nonprofit groups.

The $56.2 million combined budget does not increase taxes, though budget-to-budget spending is on the rise.
Miller said the town is anticipating a decrease in funding from the state, but during the past two years the town has built up a mill rate stabilization fund to the tune of $700,000 to avoid tax increases.
