A state investigation into Shelton Fire Marshal James Tortora will not result in Tortora losing his certification, the Connecticut Post reported Monday.
The probe was prompted by a wide-ranging 2011 complaint by one of Tortora’s subordinates.
The complaint prompted scrutiny of the high school, where a December 2008 fire raised questions about code violations in the building and whether it had been inspected properly.

State Fire Marshal William Abbott wrote to Tortora Feb. 20 that “no further action shall be taken on this matter,” according to the Post.
