Shelton Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky gave the following details about the case in a prepared statement issued Thursday (March 6) afternoon:
About 6:30 p.m. March 3, a Shelton police officer was sent to a residential address on a report of a found dog. The homeowner reported that she was driving on Booth Hill Road when she saw a dog come out of the woods and walk through traffic.
The dog appeared scared, thin and was dragging a metal chain. The female took the dog in her vehicle and drove to her residence.
The officer transported the dog to a veterinary emergency center for examination. The dog is currently being cared for at the Shelton Animal Shelter.
An investigation is being conducted by animal control.
