Update: Shelton Police Investigating Baby’s Death

Update March 12 10:45 a.m.: In a brief statement, Shelton Police identified the 2‑month-old boy who died Monday morning as Caleb Strovers.

Shelton Detectives, with assistance from the State Medical Examiner’s Office and DCF, are still conducting an investigation into the death of 2‑month-old Caleb Strovers,” the statement, written by Lt. Robert Kozlowsky, said. The family is cooperating with police. The cause of death has not yet been determined.”

Shelton police are investigating the death of an 2‑month-old boy at a downtown residence Monday (March 11) morning.

According to a prepared statement from Shelton Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky, police received a 911 call about 7:30 a.m. from a woman who said her 2‑month-old son was not breathing.

Shelton Police and EMS immediately responded to the downtown Howe Ave. residence,” Kozlowsky’s statement said. The two-month-old was taken to the hospital where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.”

Police secured the scene and detectives responded to investigate, Kozlowsky said.

The incident is still under investigation by detectives with assistance by the State Medical Examiner’s Office and the Department of Children and Families (DCF),” the statement said.
