Shelton Resident Opening Seymour Dog Grooming Salon

This new business, which will be holding a Grand Opening ceremony Saturday, Nov. 1 at noon at its location at 98 Main St., seeks to become Seymour’s premier groomer.”

The Grateful Dog’s owner, Robin Marketto of Shelton, has long had a love of animals and has worked with them in various capacities.

She spent several years at a veterinarian’s prior to attaining a certificate from the School of Dog Grooming in 2000. She has more than 13 years of experience in grooming and specializes in hand-scissoring techniques and breed-specific haircuts and has invested in special equipment that caters to older dogs to ensure their safety.

She has coiffed elite show dogs but she continues to give back by working with shelter animals to help make them look their best as they await Saturday’s Grand Opening event will include refreshments and a dog costume contest along with other 
competitions.

Marketto encourages local dog owners to come by and join in the festivities.

Of the new business, First Selectman of Seymour Kurt Miller said, We’re always excited to welcome a new business to downtown Seymour, especially one offering such unique services and we wish Robin and The Grateful Dog the best of luck. My dogs Buddy and Roxy are excited to go to the event on Saturday.”
