Shelton police have filed charges against four people in connection to a stabbing at a party in May.
In a prepared statement, Shelton Police Detective Christopher Nugent said staff at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport contacted Shelton cops May 2 shortly after midnight “regarding a 19 year old female that came into the hospital suffering from a stab wound which was reported to have occurred in Shelton.”
Police interviewed the woman, who said she was at a party in Shelton where a fight broke out and she was stabbed.
The woman was treated at the hospital for a cut to her head and a stab wound to her back, police said.
“A subsequent investigation by detectives revealed that a fight broke out between two females and several people that were at the party jumped into the fight,” Nugent’s statement said. “The fight reportedly began inside the residence and spilled outside, where it eventually ended.”
The statement did not indicate where the party took place.
