Shelton police are trying to piece together a complicated incident from Tuesday night.

According to a prepared statement from Detective Richard Bango, police received several 911 calls at about 8:15 p.m. about two incidents in the area of 300 Howe Ave. — an assault, and a person hit by a car.

The first units on scene found a 26-year-old Shelton man who had been hit by a vehicle traveling south.

At the same time, police found a 60-year-old Shelton man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Both were rushed to the hospital and were listed in critical condition, police said.

Shelton detectives and the department’s accident reconstruction team were on scene into the night investigating.

Police noted the 26-year-old hit by the car was also involved in the stabbing.” The statement does not elaborate as the investigation is still active.

The Shelton police are continuing the investigation and additional details will be released,” Bango said in a press release.
