The owners are Christopher Pagliuca and husband-and-wife Natasha and Anthony Aviles.

Natasha Aviles said they are originally from the Bronx and have worked for years in the catering business.

Article continues after video of a ribbon-cutting at the business Friday (March 17).

They initially toyed with the idea of a food truck after moving to Connecticut about two years ago.

But they wanted to offer more menu items than would be possible operating out of a kitchen on wheels. So when they saw an ad on Craigslist for the vacancy at 252 Main St., she said they couldn’t resist.

The menu offers a lot of options, she said.

It’s a Spanish-American fusion menu,” Aviles said. You get your Spanish, then you get your American stuff.”

Plus — some less traditional offerings which they call Internet-famous” foods, taken from the habit of people to post pictures of their favorite foods online.

The food that makes you want to eat your phone, you know?” Anthony said.

It’s not something you go into a store and see every day,” Natasha said.

The owners plan on offering an Internet famous food of the month” on their menu for which customers can vote online.

Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce President Bill Purcell said Main Street in Ansonia is fast becoming restaurant row,” referencing several recent openings.

We appreciate your investment,” he told the owners.

Ansonia Mayor David Cassetti said he was impressed with the speed with which the new business took shape.

Within a week and a half (Natasha) had this place open and ready to go,” he said. Usually it takes a while to transform it and everything.”

The Valley Eatery is located at 252 Main St., across from Ansonia City Hall.

The phone number is 203 – 516-5588.
