U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro Backs Mayor Anita Dugatto For A Second Term

Contributed PhotoDerby Mayor Anita Dugatto recently received the support of U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro in her run for re-election.

Anita has demonstrated her commitment to public service both through her tenure as Mayor and her service on Derby’s tax board. I know she’ll continue to fight everyday to improve the lives of Derby residents as their mayor,” DeLauro said.

Since 1991, DeLauro has served Connecticut’s Third District, which includes Derby. DeLauro is the ranking member on the Labor, Health, Human Services, and Education Appropriations Subcommittee, where she oversees our country’s investments in education, health, and employment.

Dugatto, a lifelong Derby resident, local small business owner, and active member of the Derby community for many years, is completing her first term. She was previously elected to the Board of Apportionment and Taxation.

It’s a great honor to have the support of Congresswoman DeLauro,” Dugatto said in a prepared statement. As a representative of Derby for many years, Rosa truly understands the needs of our community and has worked tirelessly as an advocate for our residents.”

In the lower Valley, DeLauro has endorsed Democrat Zani Imetovski in Seymour, who is trying to unseat First Selectman Kurt Miller, and Democrat Edward Adamowski in Ansonia, who is trying to unseat Mayor David Cassetti.
