Oxford will be joining a state-wide effort Sunday to honor the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Cities and towns across the state will be holding candlelight vigils on Dec. 23 at 6 p.m. and Oxford will hold its vigil outside the Center School on Route 67. Several members of the clergy will speak.
“We wish to express our solidarity and support for Newtown,” said First Selectman George R. Temple.
Since the vigil will be held outdoors, please dress warmly.
This is the second vigil the town has done. More than 500 turned out for a candlelight vigil on Dec. 15.
