Ansonia Police Investigate Shooting

Ansonia police are investigating a shooting in the area of Woodbridge Avenue Monday evening. 

No one was injured, but bullets hit a car, police said.

At about 11:30 p.m. police responded to a report of shots fired on the road. 

Police found shell casings on the street, according to Lt. Wayne Williams. 

A man later told police his car had been hit by the bullets, Williams said.

The victim, who was not named by police, said he saw a dark colored SUV pull up behind him, and an occupant in the SUV fired several shots at the victim’s car. 

The victim’s car was seized by police as evidence. 

Ansonia police continue to investigate the incident.
