Ansonia Rotary Presents Scholarship

The Ansonia Rotary Club recently hosted Victoria Ortega and her father, Winston, at the Crave Restaurant. Ms. Ortega, a recent graduate of Ansonia High School, received the Club’s 2018 annual scholarship.

Rotary Club President Lori Veillette presented Ms. Ortega with a check for $1,500 during lunch. Ms. Ortega will attend Carnegie Mellon University in September, where she will study mechanical engineering, concentrating on robotics.

During her tenure at AHS, she was the recipient of several awards, captained the Ansonia volleyball team, and volunteered for Griffin Hospital and the Red Cross.

If you are interested in the work of Rotary, please be our guest any Tuesday at CRAVE, 102 Main Street, Ansonia at 12:30 p.m.
