The Valley Community Foundation will have a brief Civil War Monument Restoration kickoff event on the Derby Green at 11 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 8).
Derby Mayor Anita Dugatto and Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti are scheduled to speak, as is Francis Miller, of ConservArt, who will be performing the restoration work on the monument.
