Suds Laundromat Opens In Derby

David and Cheryl Arminio of Shelton held a grand opening of their new Suds Laundromat located at 48 Pershing Drive in Derby on Friday, June 17.

Mayor Anthony Staffieri participated in a ribbon cutting with other local politicians and business leaders.

After a career-ending fall as a painter, David Arminio in partnership with his wife Cheryl looked for a business that he could run day-to-day and utilize his business skills and his passion for customer service. After researching potential businesses, they decided on the laundromat business and worked with Mac-Gray of Waltham, MA to outfit their new business.

Suds Laundromat officially opened to the public on Saturday, June 18, giving away televisions and bicycles during opening day festivities.

The new laundromat features new Dexter-brand equipment.

Mac-Gray, the nation’s leading provider of laundry equipment and service, is the exclusive supplier to the new Suds Laundromat.

Suds will offers more than 40 washers and dryers, including two 60 pound washers and four 40 pound washers.

The Arminios — who live in Shelton — offer wash, dry and fold service as well.

The new 2,200 square foot laundromat is in the Red Raider Shopping Plaza in Derby between Expect Discounts and Town Squire Diner, across from Kentucky Fried Chicken.
