Clement “Bucky” Welch, Jr., age 89, of Shelton entered into rest on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Bishop Wicke Health Center.
He was born in Derby, on October 12, 1935, son of the late Clement J. and Elizabeth (Noe) Welch and was a Derby resident for most of his life until moving to Shelton for the past 30 years.
Clement was an engineer at AVCO Lycoming for many years until his retirement. He was a communicant and usher at St. Mary Church. Clement was an original member of the Hurricanes and a member of the Derby Elks Lodge # 571. He was also an avid golfer and a N.Y. Yankees and San Francisco 49ers fan.
Clement is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Edward Welch and four sisters, Joan Welch, Shirley Bailey, Florence Conroy and Elizabeth Athan.
The family would like to specially thank Moses Amoah and the entire staff of Wesley Heights and Bishop Wicke Health Center for their care and compassion.
On Wednesday, friends are invited to go directly to St. Mary Church, 212 Elizabeth St., Derby for his Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. His entombment will follow at Mt. St. Peter Garden Mausoleum.
The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby has been entrusted with his arrangements.
