David Lungarini, age 79, entered eternal rest on October 14, 2024, at his home in Ansonia, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of thirty-six years to Ingrid Szokol Lungarini. David was born in Derby on March 13, 1945, son of the late Nello and Angelina Landolfi Lungarini. He was a graduate of Derby High School class of 1962 and resided in Ansonia since 1969.
David was employed as a sales manager for the former Murphy Ford and Healey Ford, both of Ansonia and retired from Crest Ford in Niantic. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, from 1966 – 1968.
David loved to travel. He spent his summers in the Point Judith area of Rhode Island, took sixteen trips to the Dominican Republic, three trips to Hawaii and visited Aruba and Mexico. He was a member of the Captain’s Club on Sovereign of the Seas where he sailed for thirteen cruises. David enjoyed golfing and classic muscle cars, especially Mustangs. He also loved his German Shepherds.
In addition to his wife Ingrid, David leaves to cherish his memory, his son, David G. Lungarini (Sharri) of Ansonia, grandson, Wyatt Lungarini, sisters-in-law, Celia Lungarini of Ansonia, Tina Lungarini of Milford, Kris Bradley (Robert) of Seymour and Hilde Szokol of Ansonia, brother-in-law, Albert Szokol (Cheryl) of Seymour along with several nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
He was predeceased by brothers, Robert Lungarini and Richard “Nu Nu” Lungarini and his former wife, Janice Aiudi Lungarini. All are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, by meeting directly at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia at 10:30 am. United States Army military honors will be accorded following Mass. Burial will be private. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia has been privileged with the arrangements.
