David R. John

David R. John, age 66, entered eternal rest on February 4, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous two-year battle with bladder cancer.

He was the devoted husband of Marie Horvath John and the proud dad of Joseph T. John both of Bristol.

Born in Pottsville, PA on August 4, 1958, he was the son of the late Ann Puschak Mastri and step-son of Alex Mastri of New Jersey. He grew up in White Plains New York and was a resident of Bristol, CT since 1996.

David spent majority of his career employed in the automotive service parts industry. He was the service manager for A&R Body Specialty in Wallingford and owned and operated his own business, Automotive Parts Inventory, servicing multiple dealerships around Connecticut.

David’s work ethic was unmatched. He was kind, generous and always willing to help anyone. His favorite times were spent dirt biking with his son Joseph and motor cycling with his wife Marie. He loved to vacation and plan trips especially to Maui, Hawaii where he enjoyed the calm pace and gorgeous scenery.

David will be sadly missed but will remain in our hearts forever.

In addition to his wife Marie and son Joseph, David leaves to cherish his memory, a niece who he considered his daughter, Mallory Weaver of Seymour, brothers, William T. John Jr. (Barbara) and Russell John (Andrea) both of Chicago, IL, mother-in-law, Corinne Cretella Horvath of Seymour, brothers-in-law, James Horvath (Lauren) of Naugatuck and Donald Horvath of Ansonia, special cousins, Steven and Janet Butchko of Trumbull, best friends, Kim and Tony Ferraiolo of Chester, CT along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
