Diane Marcucio Voccia, 58, entered into eternal rest on February 4, 2024, after a long illness. Diane was born in Derby, CT on February 13, 1965, to Virginia Fellows Marcucio and the late Nicholas J. Marcucio Jr.
She is survived by her husband Frank Voccia, their two sons Brandon and Kyle of Port St. Lucie, FL. and her siblings, William N. Marcucio (Victoria) of Derby, Peter J. Marcucio (Laureen) of Beacon Falls, Nancy Marren (Timothy) of Derby, Elaine Marcucio, seven nieces and nephews and nine grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant sister Judith.
Diane graduated from Derby High School in 1983. She began her medical career as a surgical technician, skillfully assisting doctors in all types of surgeries. Diane attended Goodwin University, becoming a Registered Nurse. Her compassion was recognized with a Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing. She was employed as a Visiting Nurse and adored her patients.
Diane loved gardening and cooking delicious meals. She enjoyed bargain hunting for items to adorn her home and garden. Diane’s spirit will live on. Her cackling laugh will ring in our ears forever, as well as her completely off-key renditions of Happy Birthday for all her siblings. Her radiant personality will shine on in our minds, and her tenderness never forgotten. Diane, fear nothing now, you have fought the good fight, and eternal peace and happiness are your rewards. All of our loved ones who have gone before you have welcomed you to heaven with their open arms.
A celebration of Diane’s life will be held by her family at a future date.
