Dorothy “Dottie” Lorraine Curtiss, age 81, of Bethany, entered into rest on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Sr. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. Dottie was born in New Haven on August 24, 1943, daughter of the late Clarence C. Jr. and Dorothy (Powers) Curtiss and lived in Shelton most of her life before moving to Bethany 10 years ago. She also enjoyed many winters in Fort Myers Beach, FL with her parents.
Dottie attended Shelton public schools and worked at VARCA Sheltered Workshop for 25 years. She was a longtime member of the Connecticut Historical Automobile Society and enjoyed many weekend tours riding in Model As and Model Ts with the antique car club. She enjoyed eating out, collecting dolls, embroidery, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sister Marie Zenisky and her husband Edward, her nephews Brian Zenisky and his wife Judi and Robert Zenisky, and her great nieces and nephews, Michael Zenisky, Allison Wargo and her husband Rich, Stephen Zenisky, and Justin Zenisky.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday from 10 to 11:30 AM. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 11:30 in the parlor. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
