Elmer H. Sega

Elmer H. Sega, age 93, of Shelton entered into rest on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at his home. He was the devoted husband of the late Marion (Davin) Sega. 


Elmer was born in New Preston on November 11, 1928 son of the late Attilio and Alice (Cogswell) Sega and was a Shelton resident since 1963. He was a crane operator at McClinch Crane Service until his retirement. Elmer was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478, Connecticut Antique Machinery Association, Inc, Connecticut Crankin’ Yanks Model T Ford Club, Model T Ford Club of America and Odd Fellows Club. He enjoyed collecting antique Model T and Model A cars, antique engines and antique construction equipment. During his youth, Elmer pursued flying. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family. 


Emer was the beloved father of Malvina (Tom) Stanton, Gary (Wendy) Sega, Timothy Sega and Amy (Shaun) Grinnell and brother of Edward Sega. He was the loving grandfather of Erin Ouellette, Brian Sega, Kelly Massotti, Bobby Henry and William Grinnell and great grandfather of Chase Ouellette, Aiden Massotti, Finn Massotti, Bennett Massotti and Hudson Sega. Elmer was also survived by several nieces and nephews. 


He was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur Sega and Anthony Tony” Sega and a sister Josephine Wright. 


Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul Episcopal Church’s Chapel, 25 Church Street in the Huntington Center Section of Shelton, CT 06484. His burial will follow at Lawn Cemetery 24 Lane Street, Shelton.
