Justine Macrini

Justine Macrini, age 75 of Oxford, loving wife of Edward Macrini, passed away on May 26, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 9, 1947, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna (Rudoski) O’Neill. Justine, known to many as Tina, was a graduate of St. Edmunds High School and Grace Institute Secretarial School. Just prior to her retirement, she was employed by SafeHarbor Healthcare Services/Statwood Home Improvements for twelve years, a job she thoroughly enjoyed after raising her two daughters.

In addition to her husband Edward of 55 years, Justine is survived by her dear daughters, Elizabeth Paolella and her husband Robert of Trumbull and Justine Aquitato and her husband Richard of Whitehouse Station, NJ. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Alexander Panarese, Nicholas and Sofia Paolella and step-granddaughters Amanda Guide and Alexa Aquitato. She was predeceased by her infant granddaughter Alessandra Paolella. She also leaves behind a beloved sister and brother in law Mary and George Gage, many nieces and nephews, loving Aunt Pauline Zell and close friends. She was also predeceased by her brother William O’Neill.

Justine, a woman of very strong faith was a deeply devoted grandmother who maintained a strong presence in the lives of her grandchildren. Seeing them grow into the young adults they are has been one of her life’s greatest joys. Throughout her married life Justine enjoyed the company of her many pets which included seven dogs and one Persian cat.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, 2023t at 11:00 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 733 Oxford Rd. Oxford, CT 06478. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at church. Interment will be privately held at the convenience of her family.
