BEACON FALLS: Karin M. (Beverly) “Mama Kay” Harmon, age 82, entered eternal rest on October 26, 2024, at Griffin Hospital in Derby, with her loving family by her side. She was the loving wife of sixty-five years to John E. Harmon.
Karin was born in Asco, West Virginia, on January 27, 1942, daughter of the late Woodrow and Ellen Smith Beverly. She grew up in West Virginia and moved to Connecticut in 1959 and resided in Beacon Falls for the past twenty-five years. Karin was employed as a Bus Driver in the Valley area for thirty-five years. For the last ten years, she took great pride driving a bus route in Shelton helping special needs children. She was a woman of great faith who followed the Lord and prayed daily. Karin loved caring for her family. She especially liked to cook for them and was known for making the best fried chicken. In her earlier years, she played bass guitar in the family band, Southern Comfort. Her hobbies included tending to her flower garden in her yard, trips to the casino and playing poker with friends and family.
In addition to her husband John, Karin leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Barbara J. Kinne (Thomas) of Oxford, sister, Cheryl Miani of North Haven, son-in-law, Stanley J. Bujanauskas of Oxford, grandchildren, Angela Catalano (Aaron) of East Haven, Debra LaSasso (Paul Mott) of Derby, Christopher “John” Harmon of Beacon Falls, Jacob Harmon of Trumbull and Blake Kinne of Oxford, great-grandchildren, Dylan and Luke Catalano, Bella and Noah Mott and Jack Harmon, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughters, Cheryl Harmon, and Ellen “Denise” Harmon-Bujanauskas and sisters, Marylou Morgan, Barbara Morgan, Jean Evans, and Nancy Bunch.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
