Kevin W. Barbour

Kevin W. Barbour, a veteran of the Navy, passed away Friday, November 1st at the Veterans Hospital at the age of 72. Kevin was born on April 22, 1952 in Waterbury, CT to the late Joseph and Ruth Draugelis. He graduated from Ansonia High School in 1970 and enlisted in the Navy. Kevin was a Veteran of The Vietnam War, serving with The U.S. Navy and a recipient of The Bronze Star. In addition to honorably serving his country, he also adored his wife Karynn of over 30 years.

His loved ones will remember how he always put his family first, gave his undivided attention and always shared from his truth, his heart. He always kept his chin up even when things were hard and never complained. He was humble, caring and always had a cheerful disposition. Kevin was full of kindness, laughter, loudness and was a genuine soul with an incredible sense of humor. 

In addition to his parents, Kevin is predeceased by his wife Karynn, sister Carol, mother in law Charlotte and sister-in-law Dotti and her husband Roy. He leaves his two brothers Robert C. Barbour of Arizona & Richard C.Barbour of Connecticut., brother in law David Stec of Derby, nieces Jennifer Barbour and daughter Raelyn of Colorado, Kristin Stec of Wolcott, nephews Timothy Barbour of Ohio and David Stec, wife Tania and daughter Victoria Stec of Seymour, and a host of cousins. 

Friends may call on Monday, November 11th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home 12 Franklin Street, Ansonia. He will be buried privately in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. The family would like to thank The Rocky Hill Veterans Home & Hospital for the professional care they gave to Kevin.
