Mary (Salemme) Gilloren, age 83, entered eternal rest on October 10, 2024, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport.
She was the beloved wife of the late David J. Gilloren. Mary was born in Derby on September 29, 1941, daughter of the late Michael and Philomena Salemme. She was a lifelong resident of Derby and a graduate of Derby High School. Mary was employed at the former Charlton Press and National School Studios both in Derby, and later retired from Schick in Milford. Spending time with her family was Mary’s greatest joy. She loved cooking, word puzzles, listening to country music and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Martin Gilloren of Ansonia, daughters, Deborah Sherman (David) of Roxbury and Jennifer Sears (John) of Terryville, sister, Virginia Pirro of Meriden, grandchildren, Michael Necio, Patrick Sears, Alana Zhingri (Juan), Tiffany Sears, Brianna Sears and Kaitlin Sears and great-granddaughter, Julianna Zhingri, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, David M. Gilloren, brother, Alexander Salemme, and sister, Phyllis Salemme.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 12:00 pm, a funeral service in celebration of Mary’s life will take place with Reverend Jeffrey Gubbiotti officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
