Maureen “Mo” Caroline Fama

Maureen Mo” Caroline Fama, age 67 of Monroe, died peacefully on November 8, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, with her loved ones by her side. Born in West Hartford on September 8, 1957, she was the daughter of the late M. Joseph and Mary Wade Dailey. Mo” was raised in Monroe and was a 1975 graduate of Masuk High School, a 1979 graduate of Central Connecticut State University and earned her master’s degree at Fairfield University in 1984. She enjoyed a successful career as a communications and marketing professional working for organizations such as Uniroyal Chemical and Praxair Inc. Her work took her around the globe to various locations throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Mo” was an avid swimmer and fitness enthusiast who enjoyed a good workout at the gym, alpine skiing, walking around Great Hollow Lake in Monroe, and even went sky diving! She was an avid reader, especially of Stephen King novels. She loved live music and attended many local concerts at Wolfe Park in Monroe. She was a lifelong Bruce Springsteen fan and was able to see him perform several times in stadiums as well as smaller venues. Throughout her life, Mo” generously donated gallons of blood to the American Red Cross and supported St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. She was a lover of all animals, especially her Yorkshire Terrier Mandy”.

She is survived by her cherished son, Liam J. Fama of New Haven, her dear friends Lynn Sussina of New Fairfield, John and Elizabeth Wefer of Newtown, Roger Giordano of Southbury, Dan Regan of Trumbull, and her former spouse of 22 years, Matthew J. Fama of Milford; as well as several cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 15th at 10:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT. Private interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate/.
