Patricia Elizabeth Briones Turco, age 68 of Shelton, died peacefully on March 10, 2025, at Griffin Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on May 14, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth Cordon Briones.
Patricia was raised in Shelton and was a 1974 graduate of Shelton High School and a 1976 graduate of Chamberlain Junior College, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Fashion Design. At this early age, Patricia applied her natural artistic talents to fashion designing, where her creative pieces were featured at a fashion show in Boston. She was among the selected few to have her costume designs featured and even brought in aspiring models to show off her custom pieces.
A sweet and whimsy soul, she enjoyed collecting dolls and antiques that complemented her interests. Patricia loved the Victorian style that filled her home with her gentle personality and spirit. She loved nature and all animals, especially beloved pets Chuck and Lester. Patricia spent much of her adult life caring for her two children and worked hard supporting her family. Patricia will be long remembered for her eternal love, dedication, and support to her family.
Patricia is survived by her devoted children, Aimee J. Tyszka and her husband, Edward of Naugatuck and Joseph F. Turco of Shelton; sisters, Sandra Rutkowski and her husband, Roy of Stratford, and Joanne Craft and her husband, Ronald of Ansonia; cherished grandsons, Ryan and Andrew Tyszka of Naugatuck; as well as a niece and nephews and a great niece and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 12:00 Noon to 2:30 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A private interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, at a later date.
