Peter Soleski Jr.

Peter Soleski Jr., age 97, entered eternal rest on November 25, 2024, at his home in Ansonia. He was the beloved husband of sixty-nine years to the late Sue (Nicoletti) Soleski, who recently passed on April 7, 2024.

Peter was born in Olyphant, PA on February 28, 1927, son of the late Peter Soleski Sr. and Mary Haniewicz Soleski. He was employed as a Rigger for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford until his retirement in 1991. 

A proud veteran, Peter left school at age 16 to enlist in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Columbus, where he honorably served his country during World War II

Peter was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage. Along with his late wife Sue, He enjoyed traveling, especially to sunny Aruba, his favorite place. He had a love for being outdoors in the sunshine and taking care of his yard and home.

Peter leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Robbie Cordray (Thomas) of Rocky Point, NY, Laura Soleski of Ansonia, and Lynn Soleski of Ansonia along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Steven Soleski and sisters, Natalie Pedevillano and Jean Forrester.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 8:30 – 9:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. 

His funeral will then proceed to Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Burial with United States Navy military honors will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
